Most Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How do I use E-mune?  Clean the area of abnormal tissue, cover the surface with a thin layer of E-mune, and then cover with a bandage.  Remember that this product only reacts with abnormal tissue and good healthy skin will not be affected.
  2. What can I use to apply E-mune?  You can use a Q-tip, or even your fingertip; whatever is easiest for you.
  3. How many applications of E-mune do I need to use?  About 24 hours after the first application, wash the area and apply a second layer of E-mune and cover with a bandage.  For most people only two applications are necessary.  More applications will cause increased pain and longer healing times.
  4. Will the use of E-mune leave a scar?  In most cases when the healing process begins, a scab is formed and in approximately a week or two the scab falls off along with the abnormal tissue and then the area fills in with scar tissue.  The answer is "Yes" in most cases.
  5. How painful will it be?  Depending upon the size of the area being treated, it will correlate to the degree of pain.  When your body rejects the abnormal tissue, the area will become red and swollen, painful to touch, and even pus may be formed under and around the lesion.  The pain is like having a big sliver or a bad burn, usually lasting for several days.  You can take over the counter pain medications if needed.
  6. How long does the E-mune treatment take?  Depending upon the size and the shape of the area being treated, it usually takes approximately three weeks for the reaction to be completed.  This is like asking each person, "How long does your cold last."
  7. Should I cover the area?  Yes, keep the area covered throughout the entire process.
